My Theory on Desiree Fontaine and How I Came to Meet Her.

For months I had been hearing about this stylish and georgeous "traffic girl." It was not until my sleeping pattern changed due to depression, that I was finally able to see this Diva all the guys were raving about. Wow.

I was not working and felt so much like my life was over after I lost my parents, that I began going to sleep between 7 and 9pm everynight. This caused me to start waking up at 5am, which was just in time for me to catch "Good Morning CT" and "Good Morning America." Everymorning as I watched I found myself drawn to this sister with the curly hair, positive attitude, and style for days. Daily my boyfriend and I would analyze her outfits, and discuss her style choices.

But, I tuned in for more than that. I found myself needing a daily dose of her cheer. She reminded me of my former self, the Brandice before depression took over. Watching her gave me the courage to shake my depression, Desiree Fontaine changed my life.

Recently she began Co-Hosting "CT Style" with the equally amazing Sonia Baghdady.
This show also became apart of my daily routine, it gave me an opprotunity to hear Desiree's opinion on a variety of subject. Her natural comedic timing continued to leave me in stitches and often left me in an optimistic mood for the remainder of the day.
Eventually, I joined Facebook and Des appeared as "someone you may know." I sent her a note requesting information about an internship at CT Style. That is when the nervousness kicked in, what would she have to say? Would it be an auto-reply? Much to my surprise, she personally responded and invited me to spend a day with her at the News Channel 8 Studio in New Haven. After I picked my jaw up off the floor and did a little gratitude dance, I sent my reply. It was in the moment that I knew I was on the right track to recovery.

Finally, the day arrived. I'd spent hours combing through my clothes, it was important that I had the PERFECT outfit to meet this fashionista. The studio was enchanting, everyone working there had a smiling face. Meeting Desiree was all I expected and more. After I watched the taping of the show, she sat down with me. We discussed her career, her start, and her future. Without realizing it, she inspired me. This is a woman who knew what she wanted and grabbed life by the horns. She taught me that any opprotunity no matter how small, is an opprotunity for you to shine- and that she does.

Desiree Fontaine is a force to be reckoned with, and we will see more of her beyond her traffic days. Her aspirations include becoming the host of a show that travels the world. Because of her determination, postivive attitude, style and charm it shouldn't be hard to figure out that she is going places.

You can watch Desiree every weekday morning on WTNH News Channel 8 from 5-8 am and every weekday afternoon at 12:30 on the same channel for CT Style.

  11. I work with Desiree regularly on CT Style doing the cooking segment.
My theory is that it is just a simple mistake.
A woman that has devoted her life to inspire so many, that spends her time in every possible charity she can attend to, a woman ho lifts up people lives with her charisma and positive attitude, is also capable of committing mistakes. We all are! come on!
Besides it is not up to us but to the court of law.
In the meantime, showing support is the best thing we can do!

  12. If this is true, then to bad she succumbed to the temptation. If is not true then she will return with her smile and cheerfulness.

  15. Desiree is an Beacon that will Be Alright No Matter WHat. If what is said is True, then there will be consequences to Bear. If it is not true then I look forward to her Complete Vindication. As the saying goes a Saint is Only a Sinner that Feel down. She will Rise up again to Inspire and Motivate those in need. May God Bless her and Her Husband...
