Mook N Fair: The Deal, The Future, The Haters!

So, the morning after Mook N Fair's signing party, I was tuned in to Hot 93.7 and heard Big Man discussing a few issues reguarding the event. I was completly surprised at what I heard. People, so called "Artist," actually have the audacity to call the station and tell the DJ's that the station should not be playing Mook N Fair, but actually should be playing their "hotter" songs instead.

All I can say is WOW! I have already explained that "Hate is a cureable disease." That is probably one of the realest things I have ever said! Now before I go off on a tangent, the reason for this post today is to let everyone know about my conversation with the newly signed duo. After they rocked the stage on Sunday at Sin City, I had an opprotunity to sit down with the former Wolf Pack members. We discussed their deal, where they started, and they even offered up some advice and encouragement to the recent uprising of Haters.

Mook N Fair began their careers as members of the now infamous group, The Wolf Pack. This group was founded in 1994 by former members Tracy, Bruce, Adam, Andre, and Quincy. There were all friends from the Cook Street area and eventually expanded the group to include over fifty members including Tracee Beazer- who now stars on Broadway, Andre Deyo- who penned hits like "Jenny from the Block," Shaun Mathis- award winning author, Jus Mula, Rockin Rob, Javon Giaccanna, Lady Lay, Deon Mose, and R.I. Knight. In 2003 the group separated and pursued individual careers, while continuing to support each other. Mook N Fair met while both members of the Wolf Pack and have been music and business partners ever since.

Mook N Fair began with freesyles and noticed the response and support from friends and family, this is when they began to take their music careers seriously. Eventually they began to land songs on the radio including "Fire" and "On the Low," and most recently "Who's Your Daddy," the rest has pretty much been hard work, sweat, and tears.

Despite all the distractions in the inner city of Waterbury, CT they have remained positive and focused by "doing it to the best" and "using hate as motivation." Recently Mook N Fair, who have started their own label GS Entertainment, signed a full distribution deal with Cinematic Records. They also informed me that they will begin touring in late August at major venues for major artist.

During our discussion the pair offered advice for other artist who are on the come up. Fair shared that "You have to believe in yourself and stick to your guns." Mook offered "Don't stop! Don't let them say 'No.'" The advice did not stop there, they also offered tips for the nay-sayers and Haters:
Mook- "Stay doing it. Its takes time, its a hard job."
Fair- "Keep giving it, hate is motivation!"
