So, I'm in the biggest mall that I have ever seen- well aside from the Mall of America. Of course there are nothing but rows and floors full of expensive things that I can only plan to purchase. As Lucien and I are meandering around aimlessly I notice the most clever looking store called Lush. Even though the window display and the aroma coming from the store appeared as if I could afford NOTHING inside, curiosity took over. I was greeted by the most enthusiastic clerk ever, Randy gave me an hour long tour of the store explaining how EVERYTHING worked. In a store that does not have samples- I left with a free face mask, shower scent bomb, and a tiny chunk of shampoo. Of course I was excited about my FREE treasure and felt like the day could not go any better. Finally feeling like it was time to head home we hopped on RT 44 and headed back to CT, but I felt so unfulfiled, like something was missing and that was when we saw it, the next detour on our daycation.
Taking a random turn to check out a lake, we came across the cutest little green house and farm stand, Al and Lynn @ Sunrise Gardens in Thompson, CT really hooked us up. It was like everyone was determined to shower me with gifts. We got 3 Tomato plants, 2 squash plants, oregano, celery, dill, spearmint and FRESH honey for $10. After a long convo with our new friends, I finally felt like we could head home- until I realized how close we were to the casino...
