Last night I had the pleasure of attending the Opening Reception for the F. Luis Mora Exibit at the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, CT. A dose of culture that was long over due. I had almost forgotten the sound of the Grand Piano resinating throughout the gallery, but I was instantly taken back to the countless hours I spent volunteering in this marvelous establishment.
The art was breathtaking. Mora used his canvas not only to express beauty with color and technique, but he managed to capture the emotion in the moment. The paintings appeared as if they were photographs and not oil on canvas paintings.
My final Theory: This was an evening to remember. Amazing Art. Amazing Food. Great company. Thank you Marie for the invitation.

Just the same then and now. Healthcare is an issue.
Have you written your congressman about it?
Mrs. F Luis Mora and her sister, 1902
Jeanne Cartier, 1915
My favorite peice in the collection. This is one of three life size portraits he created of this actress/singer.
Simply stunning.
